The Power of Gratitude (Weekly Recovery Reflection)
Gratitude has a way of shifting our perspective.
Quote
“Gratitude turns what we have into enough, and more. It turns denial into acceptance, chaos into order, confusion into clarity. It makes sense of our past, brings peace for today, and creates a vision for tomorrow.”
– Melody Beattie
My Thoughts
Gratitude has a way of shifting our perspective. In recovery, it’s easy to focus on what we’ve lost or what’s missing. But when we take the time to acknowledge even the smallest blessings—a kind word, a moment of peace, or simply another day sober—we begin to see abundance instead of lack. Gratitude doesn’t erase challenges, but it gives us the strength to face them with a lighter heart.
Action for the Week
Start a gratitude list. Each day, write down three things you’re thankful for. Big or small, they all count. Notice how it changes your outlook by the end of the week.
